Job Title: Project Engineer
Main Functions: Supports engineering and project execution by evaluating design deliverables, coordinating technical inputs, and ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements. Provides technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including troubleshooting production and maintenance issues. Operates under direct supervision, following established procedures and standards. May assume backup responsibilities for the Project Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development of Invitation to Tender (ITT) packages, bid evaluations, and contractor selection.
- Assist in identifying and sourcing long-lead equipment, ensuring continuity of support through the FEED phase.
- Coordinate the preparation of Gate 3 deliverables in accordance with internal capital project management systems.
- Lead the development of Functional Interaction Plans to support integrated execution.
- Manage the resolution of project issues and facilitate timely decision-making.
- Oversee change request processes and endorse change authorizations.
- Ensure assigned scopes of work are completed in alignment with project objectives, specifications, and standards.
- Interface with contractors and internal teams to verify design and construction quality.
- Support transitions between project phases, from design through construction and commissioning.
- Guide the project team in applying project management systems and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Experience in engineering, construction, project management, and project controls across multiple assignments.
- Multidisciplinary skill set with broad knowledge of design standards, specifications, and work processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities, with a focus on coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and high workloads.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
