Airswift is currently looking for a Project Engineer to work in Anchorage, AK for a major client on an initial 3-month assignment.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating various engineering and field activities on the project as assigned. This role is vital to ensure the technical and execution aspects of the project progress in accordance with the project schedule.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote and lead in the implementation of policies and procedures, including Safety, health, environment, process, people and planning. Being able to work and lead in an integrated fashion is key to project success. Skillfully work with peers to ensure coordination of the technical aspects of the project are integrated in a timely manner to support execution.
The Project Engineer reports to the Project Engineering Manager. The main duties include:
• Supporting timely execution of project schedule through project management of multiple small projects and assisting with components of larger scopes
• Interface with engineering, construction and commissioning contractors to ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables or responses to queries/clarifications
• Support Owners Engineering Team with document reviews
• Participation in Construction/Commissioning/Operations meetings as needed
• Provide technical support as needed in the execution stage
The role will also support in;
• Assisting with contractor performance management
• Monitoring for compliance with Project document control procedures and taking corrective actions
• Provide guidance to contractors (e.g., regarding tradeoffs on design and cost, Owner preferences, etc.)
• Interface management with facility engineering contractors and system design contractors
• Assisting with response to technical queries (TQ’s/RFI’s) and change requests
Delivers a project safety culture and acts as an icon towards HSE excellence. e.g. takes personal role in leading project site safety audits.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent.
• 10+ years of domestic or international oil / gas projects in execution and delivery roles with preference for cold weather experience
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Technical and organisational competency.
• Proven experience in administering major components of project execution plans
• Demonstrable interpersonal / teambuilding skills
• Effective interpersonal skills required to interact at all levels of seniority.
