The E&S Engineer is a key role within Project’s execution worldwide, responsible for ensuring adherence to global Environmental & Social (E&S) requirements. The E&S Engineer will lead, provide support, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Group Functions, Operations, Construction, Commissioning Managers, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and implementation of E&S standards.


Responsabilities:

  • Serve as the Deputy to the E&S Manager, supporting overall E&S management efforts within the project.

  • Ensure consistent implementation and interpretation of applicable regulations, emphasizing harmonization across projects.

  • Produce and manage FPSO E&S documents, including management plans, reports, and other key documentation.

  • Control tasks on the company’s Action Tracker and assist the project team in expediting late tasks to ensure timely completion.

  • Carry out audits of E&S plans across locations and PMT activities to verify compliance with E&S standards.

  • Review Non-Conformance Report (NCR) evidence related to E&S, issue corrective actions or nonconformity reports, and facilitate closure.

  • Manage the interface with the Finance team, ensuring alignment on E&S-related financial matters.

  • Act as the focal point for E&S queries, providing guidance and support as needed.

  • Inform project personnel of their E&S responsibilities, ensuring full awareness and compliance within the team.

During EPC Phase

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Organize and participate in regular internal meetings with the Whiptail project team and finance team, as well as external meetings with ESG banks, lenders, third parties, and the E&S advisor.

  • Training: Organize E&S-related training sessions as needed.

  • Pre-Operational Monitoring: Prepare the annual Pre-Operational Monitoring Report.

  • Construction ESMP: Develop, implement, and track progress on the Construction Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP).

  • Site Visits and Reporting: Coordinate and monitor ERM site visits and related reporting for the Annual Monitoring Report.

  • ESDD Risk Follow-Up: Track and manage E&S risks identified in the Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD).

  • ESAP Monitoring: Monitor implementation and closure of Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) items in coordination with relevant action owners.

  • Operational ESMP: Collaborate with the Operations team to write and implement the Operational ESMP.

During Operations Phase

  • Monthly KPI Collection and Internal Reporting: Collect social and environmental KPIs from the Operations team on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy, proper filing, and internal reporting. Data is sourced from both the Shore-base and FPSO.

  • Annual Reporting to Lender-Approved E&S Advisor: Share all relevant FPSO, social, and environmental performance data annually with the lender-approved E&S advisor (ERM). Support preparation of the Annual Progress Report by attending related meetings and responding to Q&A.

  • Review and Finalization of the Annual Progress Report: Integrate one round of feedback from internal stakeholders (ESG team, Sustainability, FPSO Operations, and Shore-base) into the draft Annual Progress Report. Submit the final version to Corporate Finance (Marly) for distribution to Lenders and ECAs.

  • Lender and ECA Engagement: Address one round of comments and Q&A from Lenders and ECAs through coordination with the E&S advisor and relevant action owners.

Requirements:

  • Sustainability Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, including knowledge in construction and/or operations.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification in Environmental & Socioeconomics (e.g., Certified E&S Manager) is a PLUS.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Environmental & Socioeconomics, with a focus on global standards and multi-national operations.

  • Proven experience with E&S subjects in complex projects.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and understanding relationships with external regulatory bodies.
