The role:
The client is seeking a skilled Proposal Engineer to support the development of technical and commercial bids within the defense sector. This role involves analyzing specifications, coordinating bid preparation, and contributing to strategic decision-making across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze tender specifications and assess feasibility
- Identify project risks and opportunities, and define mitigation strategies
- Conduct market research on defense programs, equipment, and suppliers
- Coordinate bid development across technical, financial, and commercial departments
- Prepare and validate cost estimates and bid documentation
- Support technical and commercial negotiations
- Maintain client and partner relationships throughout the bid process
- Contribute to standardization and alternative solution development
- Identify innovations to enhance project competitiveness
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Strong technical understanding of complex systems
- Proficient in French and English; additional languages are a plus
- Familiarity with legal and financial aspects of contracts
- Skilled in MS Office and MS Project; knowledge of Baan or SAP is a plus
- Strong sense of responsibility, autonomy, and discretion
- Capable of leading cross-functional teams and managing confidential information
- Must comply with Section 126.1 of the U.S. ITAR regulations
