Position Title: QA/QC Inspector (Civil)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector (Civil) to ensure quality compliance for civil and structural works in major Oil & Gas projects. The role involves implementing inspection procedures, monitoring contractor activities, and ensuring adherence to international standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement company management system elements relevant to your function.
- Ensure personal and team safety and actively participate in all project safety initiatives.
- Prevent environmental pollution during project execution.
- Coordinate inspection and testing requirements on behalf of company.
- Review project-specific inspection documentation to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Apply quality inspection procedures for construction activities, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Verify that inspection and test documentation meets Project Quality Plan, ITPs, and project requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure calibration and documentation of all measuring and testing equipment.
- Assist construction teams in developing quality documentation (method statements, work procedures, ITPs).
- Identify non-conformances and assist in corrective and preventive actions.
- Liaise with field supervisors and contractors to plan and monitor civil tests.
- Inspect and review quality documents for activities such as concrete casting, steel fixing, anchor bolts, grouting, steel structure erection, block works, soil and excavation, and material receiving.
- Monitor contractor QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Witness site and laboratory tests related to civil activities.
- Verify materials and equipment against specifications and reject non-compliant items.
- Perform random dimensional checks and inspections on certified batch plants, mixers, lifting gear, etc.
- Follow up on corrective actions and close out non-conformances.
- Track trends of non-compliance and report contractor performance.
- Initiate surveillance reports and NCRs for approval.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Geological Engineering, or equivalent.
- Formal training in Quality Control and membership in a recognized professional institution preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years in a similar QA/QC role within Oil & Gas or petrochemical projects.
- GCC experience is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of QC processes and testing requirements for major construction projects.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., QCS, ACI, AISC).
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, multicultural environment.
