Mechanical/Piping QC Inspector – (2 vacancies)
Job Purpose
The Mechanical/Piping QC Inspector is responsible for evaluating the suitability of products, materials, and processes against designated specification requirements at scheduled and ad?hoc intervals.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Engage contractors and third?party organizations professionally to maintain effective working relationships.
- Review and provide clear feedback on contractor quality documentation as required.
- Evaluate product and process conformity at key stages against specified requirements.
- Monitor work quality at sites and fabrication workshops against approved technical specifications.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials and equipment to prevent degradation.
- Verify effective implementation of contractor procedures and processes.
- Conduct site receipt inspections, including visual and dimensional checks.
- Ensure availability of updated project quality documents and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare daily inspection reports highlighting key observations and issues.
- Participate in site quality verification activities and document findings.
- Record and support resolution of non?conformance items.
- Recommend topics and prepare discipline-specific content for quality training programs.
- Serve as the “eyes and ears” of project management to ensure strict adherence to quality expectations.
Qualifications (mandatory)
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) plus recognized trade certifications.
• CSWIP 3.2.2 Senior Welding Inspector certification (with RT Interpretation).
• ASNT Level II certification for UT, MT, PT, and RT film interpretation (as applicable).
• BGAS/NACE certification.
Knowledge & Experience
• Minimum 8 years’ experience as inspection personnel within Oil & Gas projects (Greenfield, Brownfield, Shutdowns).
• Experience across procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality assurance systems.
• Extensive exposure to offshore and onshore installation/testing of piping systems, valves, and equipment.
• Experience with hot?tapping operations.
• Knowledge of cryogenic service requirements.
• Thorough understanding of industry codes/standards (e.g., ASME, API, ASNT, NACE).
• At least 2 years’ experience with CRA?clad pipeline/piping systems (preferably Alloy 625/825).
• Preferred: Experience with PAUT/TOFD.
