Role Overview

  • Inspection Specialist: Execute specific inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities on-site to uphold quality standards.
  • Quality Record Keeper: Issue relevant Quality Records and write non-conformance reports when necessary, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Cable Commander: Check cable laying and identification to guarantee proper installation and adherence to specifications.
  • Loop Check Expert: Perform all relevant loop checks to ensure systems are functioning correctly.
  • Punch-Listing Pro: Conduct punch-listing operations to identify and rectify outstanding issues before project completion.
  • Transformer Tester: Inspect power transformers, switchboards, accumulator batteries, socket outlets, and lighting systems for compliance.
  • Visual Inspector: Carry out visual inspections and dimensional tests, confirming ratings and material for connections.
  • Continuity Tester: Perform tests of continuity and insulation resistance to maintain electrical integrity.
  • Instrument Installation Checker: Verify the installation of instruments and conduct functional tests to ensure operational readiness.
  • Signal Connection Verifier: Check pneumatic signal connections and fiber optic cables for optimal performance.
  • Communication Functionality Tester: Conduct tests on communication functionalities to ensure seamless operation.
  • Process Verifier: Verify special processes and relevant workers’ qualifications to uphold quality standards.
  • Witnessing Authority: Witness tests, controls, and inspections carried out, ensuring compliance with the Quality Control Plan.
  • Documentation Manager: Manage documents certifying tests, controls, and inspections while ensuring conformity with procedures.
  • SHE Advocate: Influence safe outcomes in the field with a strong knowledge of Industry SHE working practices and procedures.
  • Subcontractor Monitor: Oversee subcontractor preservation and control of equipment to ensure quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Acceptance Walk-Down Leader: Complete electrical and instrumentation system acceptance walk-downs with constructors, facilitating a smooth handover to Commissioning/Completions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • QA/QC Expertise: Proven experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes within construction environments.
  • High Voltage Knowledge: Previous exposure to high voltage electrical installations including switchgear and electric drives.
  • Instrumentation Calibration Skills: Familiarity with instrument calibrations including ultrasonic flow meters, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, and pressure transmitters.
  • Standards Proficiency: Working knowledge of BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA codes and standards relating to electrical and instrumentation work.
  • Safety Legislation Acumen: Strong understanding of safety legislation and regulations relevant to electrical and instrumentation work.
  • Microsoft Office Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Package; familiarity with MS Project, Outlook, WinPCS, etc. is advantageous.
  • Hazardous Area Experience: Exposure to Hazardous Area installations is a valuable asset.

Education & Experience

  • Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable role within the oil, gas, or energy industries.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in electrical or instrumentation fields are preferred.
