Airswift is seeking a Quality Engineer – FPU & FSO to join a major operator in the offshore oil & gas sector, supporting a large deepwater development project in Mexico on a 2-year assignment (renewable).

This position is part of a Project and will play a key role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and readiness of FPU (Floating Production Unit) and FSO (Floating Storage & Offloading) systems during the execution and handover-to-operations phase.

Location

  • Based in Mexico City 
  • Frequent travel to Tamaulipas

  • 2-year assignment, renewable

Key Responsibilities

  • Review vendor and construction data required for mechanical completion and asset handover.
  • Ensure First-Time-Right delivery to Operations, supporting safe and reliable startup.
  • Manage the Material Verification Program (MVP) and Project Verification Plans (PVP).
  • Coordinate with Process Safety, Reliability & Maintenance, Inspection, Information Management, O&D, and Facilities Engineering teams.
  • Oversee verification of Piping, Fittings & Flanges (PFF) with LRQA and QA/QC teams.
  • Ensure Build-It-Clean practices and baseline data collection for dry tow, wet tow and transfer to Operations.
  • Audit contractors on record-keeping, certificates, and information management.
  • Review nonconformities, repairs and participate in RCA.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance for Safety Critical Elements (SCE).
  • Promote digital data tools (drones, crawlers, ROVs).
  • Coordinate lessons learned across FPU, FSO and SURF teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Preferably ASQ Certified Quality Engineer / Reliability Engineer.
  • 10+ years of Quality Engineering.
  • 5+ years in QA/QC for plant or offshore operations.
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Mexico. Local talent is strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Native/Fluent Spanish required; English proficiency necessary for technical coordination.
  • Experience with: MS Office/360, SharePoint, Omega PIMS, SAP (time writing), Veracity, contractor systems.

This is a full-time onshore position based in Mexico City, working Monday to Friday, with frequent travel to Tamaulipas to support field and project execution activities.
