Role Overview

  • Design Architect: Lead the design and calculations for new reinforced concrete and steel framework structures, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Calculation Note Creator: Draft preliminary calculation notes that justify the works and outline loading notes for structural integrity.
  • Quantity Estimator: Accurately estimate quantities for concrete and steel structures to ensure precise project planning.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaborator: Interface effectively with other trades to ensure seamless integration of structural designs within the overall project.
  • Methodology Developer: Establish methodologies for justifying works, ensuring compliance with Eurocodes (EC0, EC1, EC2, EC3, EC8) and national annexes.
  • Quality Validator: Verify and validate calculation notes prepared by other teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction companies.
  • Design Document Author: Write comprehensive design and/or calculation notes for works, ensuring clarity and adherence to standards.
  • Engineering Change Coordinator: Follow up on engineering changes to ensure accurate communication with construction companies and their subcontractors.
  • Standards Adherent: Apply study methods specific to the project while ensuring compliance with client rules and safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Fluent in French and English, enabling effective communication with clients and partners.
  • Proficient in structural steel design and concrete structure calculations.
  • Experience with AUTODESK Robot Structural Analysis and BENTLEY Staad Pro is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes (EC0, EC1, EC2, EC3, EC8) and their application in structural engineering.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing input data maturity.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of confirmed experience in structural design and calculations, particularly in industrial contexts such as petrochemical or pharmaceutical facilities.
