Remediation Supervisor
Duration: 12 months (contractor, outside IR35)
Location: Point Of Ayr, Talacre
Rotation: Up to 5.5 days per week
Position Overview
This position has been created to support the ENI Liverpool Bay Project, specifically within the Decommissioning and Carbon Capture and Storage initiative during the construction phase. The purpose of this role is to report directly to the Construction Site Manager, overseeing subcontractor activities and ensuring delivery of compliant soil and groundwater remediation according to specified standards, including safety and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership & Strategy
- Provide oversight of subcontracted soil classification, waste management, and soil reuse decisions.
- Coordinate remediation works with other site operations to maintain safe working conditions and avoid operational clashes.
- Ensure all reuse decisions are in compliance with CL:AIRE DoWCoP, the Materials Management Plan, or project-specific reuse criteria.
Quality Compliance & Oversight
- Supervise and monitor subcontractor’s daily remediation operations for adherence to RAMS, remediation strategy, and principal contractor standards.
- Oversee groundwater management operations, including pumping, treatment system supervision, monitoring, and discharge controls.
- Monitor environmental controls such as dust suppression, odour management, noise mitigation, and surface water protection.
Project Execution Support
- Review and sign off subcontractor daily records, including waste transfer notes, stockpile logs, and site diaries.
- Maintain full compliance with CDM duties and principal contractor responsibilities.
- Coordinate remediation works in a construction context, ensuring compliance and efficient workflow across project teams.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Oversee documentation and record-keeping to ensure traceability and audit-readiness.
- Sign off daily operational logs and compliance verifications submitted by subcontractors.
- Report to the Construction Site Manager on progress and any issues related to remediation delivery and compliance.
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to continuous improvement of remediation techniques by providing feedback based on site experience.
- Participate in communication and collaboration efforts to achieve common project goals.
- Advise on safe and compliant work practices for soil and groundwater remediation in the project context.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in soils remediation or similar project/construction activities involving subcontractor supervision.
- CSCS Supervisor or equivalent certification required; SSSTS or SMSTS also acceptable.
- Strong technical proficiency in soils remediation techniques and site investigation methodologies.

- Expertise in the oversight and coordination of subcontracted environmental operations within construction projects.
- Demonstrated capability in reviewing technical documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ability to maintain professional communication and support collaborative efforts towards complex project challenges.
