Role: Lead Risk Coordinator - Asbestos/FCR

Contract Duration: 15 months (renewable)

Location: Feyzin, France

Start Date: ASAP

Work Schedule:

  • Phase 1: March, 2026  ? July, 2026 – 2 days/week
  • Phase 2: August, 2026 ? June, 2027 – Full-time


     

The Asbestos/FCR/Lead Risk Coordinator provides technical assistance to the Company for the preparation and execution of the Grand Arrêt (GA27) of the Refining units at the Feyzin platform.
The role includes defining the asbestos risk management strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, preparing and overseeing diagnostic and removal activities, and coordinating risk prevention across all related works.

The Coordinator reports directly to the HSE client representative responsible for GA preparation.

Preparation Phase

  • Review the full list of GA works.
  • Verify the existence of pre-work asbestos surveys.
  • Analyze pre-survey reports and ensure compliance with NF X46-100.
  • Define diagnostic strategies.
  • Prepare technical specifications for asbestos survey contractors.
  • Draft specifications for SS3/SS4 asbestos removal works.
  • Analyze bids and participate in contractor selection.
  • Support decisions regarding SS3 vs SS4 work methods.
  • Collaborate with preparation teams (logistics, HSE, general contractors).
  • Validate preparation level for SS4 works.
  • Supervise diagnostic and decontamination work.
  • Monitor waste management.
  • Conduct field audits.
  • Update the pre-work survey tracking database.

Execution Phase

  • Supervise asbestos removal activities (no intervention inside SS3/SS4 work zones).
  • Oversee diagnostic work for equipment lacking prior surveys.
  • Supervise potential decontamination operations.
  • Ensure asbestos risk is considered for all added scope during the outage.
  • Report progress on asbestos removal activities.
  • Conduct on-site audits.
  • Prepare the end-of-mission feedback report (REX).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Training in asbestos/FCR/lead risk prevention.
  • Strong knowledge of asbestos/FCR/lead regulations.
  • Chemical Risk Level 2 certification.
  • Harness safety certification.
  • Scaffold inspection authorization.
  • Industrial site (petrochemical/refinery) experience.
  • Mandatory OPERA permit system training.
  • Ability to train new team members internally.
