Job Purpose

The Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing project risks to protect people, assets, and the environment. The role ensures effective risk management is embedded across all stages of the project lifecycle from design and engineering through construction, installation, commissioning, and readiness for operations while complying with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct risk assessments across all project phases, including FPSO design, construction, installation, and operations.
  • Identify and analyse safety, technical, environmental, and operational risks.
  • Facilitate structured risk studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, FMEA, FTA, and similar methodologies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor risk mitigation measures to reduce risks to ALARP.
  • Maintain, update, and manage the project risk register.
  • Prepare and present risk reports, including updates for management reviews and stage gates.
  • Monitor project activities to identify new or changing risks and verify implementation of risk controls.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate risk policies, international standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support safety case development and promote a strong safety culture focused on zero harm.
  • Lead or support incident and near?miss investigations, including root cause analysis and lessons learned.
  • Exercise stop?work authority in situations of immediate and unacceptable risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Safety, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas risk management, with offshore or FPSO project exposure.
  • Strong experience leading hazard and risk studies (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, QRA, FMEA).
  • Good knowledge of oil & gas safety and risk standards, including ISO 31000 and ISO 45001.
  • Familiarity with Indonesian regulatory requirements (SKK Migas / MIGAS) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, CRM, PMP, ISO Lead Auditor, BOSIET) are desirable.
