Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple river-based systems, ensuring activities follow technical and operational standards.
- Work with regional teams on annual planning, budgeting, and KPI setting.
- Support the rollout of new deployments, including planning and prioritisation.
- Lead knowledge-sharing efforts to strengthen capabilities within local partner organisations.
Performance & Data Oversight
- Track system performance, uptime, collection data, and reliability; identify gaps and drive improvements.
- Supervise the monitoring/control?room function during scheduled operating hours.
- Review KPIs with partners and ensure timely, accurate reporting of performance and environmental impact.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous?improvement measures.
Contract & Partner Management
- Ensure contractors and local operators comply with agreed standards and deliverables.
- Recruit and mentor local operations managers as needed.
- Uphold QHSE requirements across all operational sites.
- Maintain strong working relationships with contractors and environmental partners.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with NGOs, municipalities, and community groups.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange between global technical teams and local operators.
- Contribute to building long?term frameworks for sustainable river protection across Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical, civil, maritime engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- ~5–10 years’ experience in maritime operations, river/civil works, infrastructure operations, maintenance, or similar fields.
- Background in contractor oversight, procurement, or KPI?driven partner management.
- Strong English proficiency; ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
