Our client, a major Oil and gas company, is looking for an Rotating Equipment Planner to work on a long term contract in Houston, TX

General Purpose:

The Rotating Equipment Planner role is a member of the site’s NRM & Construction department with ownership of the planning of all rotating equipment work items within a project scope.

This includes time and cost estimates for such equipment as pumps, compressors, fans and blowers. This role coordinates the planning efforts of the site Reciprocating Compressor strategy as well as all other associated rotating equipment work for NRM & Construction.

This role responds to reactive repairs associated with rotating equipment. This role requires the interaction with other key stakeholders of maintenance integrity, reliability, and operations.

Core activities / Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing the cost estimate for rotating equipment within a given project.
  • Ensuring proper QA and QC systems are identified and planned for accordingly within the job scope
  • Develop bidding strategies in conjunction with management to deliver the most efficient and cost-effective plans for execution.
  • Accountable for specifying and ordering material required for projects for all rotating equipment.
  • Accountable for updating data for in-house systems related to rotating equipment.
  • Ensure planning efforts meet established timelines.
  • Work with scheduler on the logistics of the plans and ensure schedule is accurate for the work.
  • Work with Operations and Process in the development of defined scopes for rotating equipment.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineering on the integration of any rotating equipment from projects within a project.
  • Participate in the development of the project contracting strategy.
  • When required, lead work in the field on rotating equipment.
  • Participate in reviews of rotating equipment work for each project. This may include TAR’s, scope definition or challenges and other meetings as needed or directed
  • Participate in Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Ensure Rotating Equipment Plans are developed and followed for a project
  • Develop rotating equipment execution plans and cost estimates for projects including cost and time.
  • Ensure Bills of Material are accurate, complete and ordered for work being done.
  • Deliver required information in support of business plan and machinery strategy premises within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Plan and update BOM’s associated with projects.
  • Support capital project integration and execution in turnaround.

Experience/Skills:

  • Seven (7) years rotating equipment experience, either in projects, maintenance, or turnaround.
  • Proven ability to be able to coordinate activities and resolve conflicts between various departments to ensure work plans are implemented in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Proven knowledge of resource skills (contractor and company) and work practices including interaction with each other.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, SAP and Primavera 6.
  • Proficient at capturing data for historical purposes, presenting data to management, and use of planning software.
  • QA/QC skills, critical path planning, strategy development and milestone setting.
  • Proven knowledge of engineering, maintenance, production, planning, and scheduling processes obtained through experience and technical training
