Join a leading player in the energy industry as a Safety Advisor, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence and safety compliance. This full-time contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant new developments in North Yorkshire for a 7/7 rotational position.

 

Role Overview

  • Act as a role model and reinforce a workplace culture where safety is paramount.
  • Provide an environment for on-site teams to challenge and act on unsafe behaviors without repercussions.
  • Participate in investigations into accidents and high potential near-miss incidents.
  • Collect and summarize specific risks within the working area and implement plans to avoid these risks.
  • Review and assess the impact of critical risks, and monitor the effectiveness of critical controls.
  • Manage safety systems within the work area, including assessing team members' fitness for duty.
  • Engage in physical safety checks, interventions, and coaching.
  • Create safety reports and manage analysis of available data.
  • Facilitate continual safety checks to ensure all safety requirements are met.
  • Support site visits by internal and external visitors to ensure adherence to site safety systems.
  • Support the development of procedures for the new Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Implement and maintain a Safety Monitoring Plan aligned with Crop Nutrients Safety Management System.
  • Monitor compliance and identify opportunities to improve safety performance.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify and escalate non-compliance.
  • Investigate incidents within the work area, establish root causes, and implement learnings.
 

Skills & Qualifications

  • HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) expertise.
  • Knowledge of Plant HSE practices.
  • Experience with HAZOPS (Hazard and Operability Studies).
  • Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and compliance monitoring.
  • Excellent communication skills for team engagement and reporting.
 

Education & Experience

  • Qualifications: Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety certification is advantageous.
  • Experience in safety advisory roles within the mining or heavy industry.
