About the Opportunity
Airswift is supporting our client a leading EPC company in securing experienced Safety Engineers to join their HSE Design (HSED) organisation on major engineering projects. You will integrate directly into multidisciplinary project teams delivering large-scale Onshore LNG EPC, Energy Transition FEED, and future Oil & Gas / Power / Industrial projects.

Role Overview
As a Safety Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring personnel, environmental, and asset protection throughout the design phases. You will collaborate closely with Process, Piping, Civil, Instrumentation and other disciplines, while reporting to the Safety Head of Department and the Project Safety Lead.
Your mission includes identifying Major Accident Events and defining prevention, mitigation, and protection measures across various project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in HSE design activities across major EPC and FEED projects.
- Conduct and contribute to:
- Preliminary Risk Analysis
- Safety Reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, etc.)
- Plot Plan and 3D Model Reviews
- Hazardous Area Classification
- Active and Passive Fire Protection design
- Cold Spill Protection
- Detection system definition (flammable gas, toxic gas, fire)
- Personnel Protection assessments
- Escape, Evacuation & Rescue (EER) studies
- Identify Safety Critical Elements (SCEs) and perform criticality ratings.
- Prepare technical specifications, requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor follow-up for fire protection and personnel safety equipment.
- Ensure high-quality, traceable deliverables aligned with project procedures, budgets, and schedules.
- (For senior profiles) Supervise junior engineers and review/approve documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- MSc Degree in Engineering (Safety or Process preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in Safety Engineering within Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Energy Transition, or Mining.
- Strong experience with safety design domains including:
- HAD, HAC, Fire Protection, Detection, EER, Personnel Protection
- Solid understanding of international codes & standards: NFPA, API, IP, EN1473, etc.
- Familiarity with major operator safety specifications.
- Strong technical judgment and design optimisation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools.
- Fluent in English.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, autonomy, and organisational skills.
