Safety Manager – Large Chemical Project (Greenfield/Brownfield)
Location: LaPorte, TX
Schedule: 5/10s (Monday–Friday, 10-hour shifts)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and oversee all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) operations for a major chemical facility project exceeding $5 billion in value. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing safety programs on greenfield and brownfield sites, ensuring compliance, mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific HSE plans and procedures.
  • Lead safety initiatives across all phases of construction and commissioning.
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to integrate safety into project planning and execution.
  • Manage safety training programs and toolbox talks.
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and enforce corrective actions.
  • Report safety metrics and trends to senior leadership.
 Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of HSE experience in chemical, petrochemical, or industrial construction.
  • Direct experience managing safety on greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Proven leadership on projects valued at $5B or higher.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: CSP, CHST, or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience with large EPC contractors or owner-operator environments.
  • Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) and hazardous materials handling.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in high-risk environments.
