HSE Coach – Guinea (3/1 Rotation)
Rotation: 3 weeks on / 1 week off

About the Role
This role focuses on building and strengthening a high performing HSE culture across a rapidly growing industrial environment with a diverse workforce. The HSE Coach acts as a trusted advisor, helping supervisors and leaders embed safe behaviors, improve risk awareness, and apply HSE best practices in daily operations.
You will support leaders through coaching, training, and field engagement, with a strong focus on critical risk management and safe operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Training and Coaching
- Coach supervisors and managers on safe behaviors, risk awareness, and HSE best practices during safety activities.
- Lead coaching on Critical Risk Management (CRM) rituals.
- Conduct one on one and small group coaching sessions.
- Provide on site observations and constructive feedback.
- Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workshops.
- Coach and mentor internal HSE coaches (“coach the coach”).
- Prepare and deliver group training sessions.
- Train teams on risk recognition, assessment, controls, communication, and soft skills.
- Report coaching and training progress through digital tools.
- Recommend continuous improvements to maximize program effectiveness.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure personal safety and legal compliance at all times.
- Assist with risk assessments, JSAs, and method statements when needed.
- Participate in incident investigations and support root?cause analysis.

- Promote a proactive, positive safety culture across all levels.
- Demonstrate respect, strong ethics, and a growth?oriented approach.
- Encourage safe decision?making and the confidence to stop unsafe work.
- Promote employee engagement in safety reporting and initiatives.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Provide ongoing updates and feedback to site management.
- Support the implementation of HSE improvement plans.
- Share best practices and lessons learned across teams.
- Assist in reviewing and improving HSE procedures and policies.
Experience and Competencies
Technical Requirements
- Solid understanding of Critical Risk Management (CRM).
- Ability to verify controls and identify high risk activities in the field.
- Skilled in identifying critical controls and assessing their effectiveness.
- Ability to support planning for high?risk activities.
- Strong field engagement skills and the ability to validate worker understanding.
Profile
- Diploma or degree in HSE, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- HSE certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) preferred but not mandatory.
- Coaching qualifications preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of HSE operational experience in high risk industries (oil and gas, mining, construction, etc.) or operations management.
- Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and behavioral safety programs.
- Significant critical risk experience in heavy industry.
Skills
- Strong coaching and communication abilities.
- Influences effectively without authority.
- Excellent observation and analytical skills.
- Able to work comfortably in field/operational environments.
- Fluent in French/English or Mandarin/English.
