Senior Civil Estimator – Brisbane
Due to continued growth across Queensland and NSW, we are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to join our client's Brisbane-based pre?contracts team. This role plays a key part in securing work across a diverse range of civil projects, including state road upgrades, transport infrastructure, and mining-related civil works.
Reporting directly to the Chief Estimator, you will work closely with senior management, engineering, and wider bid teams to prepare accurate cost estimates, detailed bid submissions, and tender programs that support the successful award of projects at targeted margins.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, timely civil estimates by reviewing scopes of work, drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather inputs required for costings, methodology, and tender strategy.
- Support Project Managers with planning and scheduling of Labor, plant, equipment, and materials to ensure accurate project delivery forecasting.
- Provide clear and concise documentation at contract award, assisting with bill of quantities and cost allocation where required.
- Lead the preparation and review of estimates, ensuring thorough analysis, accuracy, and alignment with tender strategy.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the full estimating process to maximize tender success.
- Contribute to tender design development, advising on commercial and constructability considerations.
- Review and provide commentary on commercial terms, risk allocation, and contract conditions.
- Prepare and review schedules, pricing breakdowns, and submission documents for final tender lodgement.
- Present and participate in tender reviews with senior management.
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating systems, tools, and processes, and contribute to the upskilling of junior estimators.
- Assist in post?tender negotiations to support the successful award of projects.
