Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

- Monday to Friday, 40 hours

- 12-month contract with likelihood of extending
- Up to $105 p/hr
- If relocating, temporary accommodation can be provided for 4 weeks while securing housing
Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to instrumentation and control system design — with strong experience in PLC control systems (Rockwell preferred) and brownfield applications.
- Support proposals and business development by preparing execution strategies, estimates, and technical content.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and contractors to drive successful project outcomes.
- Plan and coordinate team workloads, ensuring resource coverage, performance support, and technical mentoring.
- Ensure all design and engineering deliverables meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in project planning and execution, contributing to cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, specifications, data sheets, and bid evaluations.
- Support construction, commissioning, and operations through technical input and on-site collaboration.
Candidate criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics or Chemical Engineering
- RPEV, or ability to obtain within 3 months of joining
- Strong foundation in instrumentation design and interfaces to PLC control systems in brownfield environments.
- Experience in industrial process facilities; aluminium smelter exposure advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Control Systems preferred.
- Site based experience will also be highly regarded
- Based in, or willingness to relocate to Portland, ViC (or surrounds).
