Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Perth, Western Australia
Contract Type: Office-based secondment
Duration: 12-month initial term
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the client’s Perth office on a secondment basis. The role involves overseeing a refrigeration package for mine shaft conditioning, ensuring technical accuracy, budget control, and schedule adherence. You will also contribute to the Definitive Feasibility Study and manage vendor and service provider relationships.
Key Duties
Serve as project engineer for refrigeration systems related to mine shaft conditioning.
Evaluate tenders and coordinate with refrigeration package suppliers.
Monitor and manage package budgets and timelines.
Handle change management processes and compile technical feedback on vendor documentation.
Support feasibility studies, including capital cost estimates and scheduling.
Supervise engineering service providers to maintain compliance and quality standards.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Eligible for Engineers Australia membership.
At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
Background in underground mining projects.
Expertise in refrigeration systems.
Proven experience in package/project engineering and vendor management.
Strong capability in managing engineering service providers.
