Join our dynamic team as a Senior Operations Advisor and play a pivotal role in the LNG industry! This full-time contract position offers you the opportunity to lead the development and implementation of critical Shutdown/Cleanup/Startup (SCS) plans for Flare Pitstop operations in Soyo, Angola. Your expertise will ensure safe and efficient operations during this essential process, making a significant impact on our production team's success.

Role Overview

  • Develop and own the SCS plan and procedures for the Flare Pitstop, ensuring alignment with planning milestones and IMPACT process deliverables.
  • Implement the SCS process across all phases of shutdown, cleanup, and startup.
  • Participate in Flare Pitstop core team and planning meetings.
  • Contribute to Shutdown Safety, Environmental, and Permitting Plans.
  • Create detailed strategies for plant shutdown and deinventorying, isolating wet and dry flares for maintenance, cleaning lines using advanced technologies, and recommissioning.
  • Ensure timely completion and updates of shutdown, cleanup, chemical cleaning, and startup procedures.
  • Support pre-shutdown training for operations personnel.
  • Review operator manpower requirements for Pitstop execution.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) before, during, and after shutdown.
  • Conduct verification and validation (V&V) of SCS procedures, blinds, system lists, and permitting plans.
  • Assist with tracking Management of Change (MOC) and incident reviews.
  • Coach and mentor operators and shift team leads.

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering (preferred). Equivalent experience accepted.
  • Languages: Fluent English (required), Portuguese (preferred).
  • Experience: Extensive LNG plant operations experience, including shutdown, cleanup, and startup; knowledge of flare relief systems and LNG commissioning/startup; previous turnaround core team involvement; familiarity with PSM processes (MOC, hazard analysis, incident investigation); supervisory and mentoring experience.
