Senior Piping Engineer
Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands (3 days office based, 2 days home based)
Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable)
Contract Setup: Monday to Friday

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to support the design and engineering of piping systems that meet high standards of safety, reliability and sustainability. The role plays a key part in successful project delivery, contributing to engineering excellence and long-term strategic objectives.
This position involves technical ownership of piping design scopes, interface management, vendor coordination and leadership within a multidisciplinary project environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Piping Engineer, you will be accountable for the technical execution of piping engineering activities, ensuring compliance with contractual, company and international requirements. Responsibilities include:
- Selecting appropriate piping design methods, engineering procedures and technical solutions in accordance with project specifications.
- Performing and optimizing piping system designs in compliance with international codes, industry standards, regulations and internal engineering requirements.
- Planning, executing and delivering piping engineering activities within agreed schedules and budgets.
- Ensuring effective coordination and management of interfaces with other engineering disciplines, packages and systems.
- Delivering the assigned piping scope of work in full compliance with contractual obligations and internal quality requirements.
- Applying applicable lessons learned and assessing change impacts within and across project boundaries.
- Coordinating with vendors, subcontractors and third-party companies throughout design, procurement and fabrication phases.
- Acting as Package Engineer when assigned, with technical responsibility for piping-related packages, including design, procurement support and manufacturing follow-up.
- Providing technical guidance and starting to lead engineers within the assigned piping scope.
- Acting as Piping Discipline Lead for defined scopes when required.
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with specialization or strong experience in Piping Engineering.
Experience Requirements
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with significant exposure to piping engineering.
- Proven experience in piping system design for large-scale or complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of international piping codes, standards and best engineering practices.
- Significant EPC experience required
- Oil and gas experience required
- Offshore/vessel experience is nice to have
- Experience working with vendors, fabricators and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Ability to manage technical scopes autonomously and deliver within project constraints.
