Senior Application Platform Engineer- Profile description
Function Description :
Fluxys is actively looking for a senior Application Platform Engineer for the application platform team. The objective of this team is to support Fluxys development teams and to maintain the application platforms where their applications “land”.
In short: they maintain the application platforms, help development teams to deploy their applications on them and resolve issues with these applications.
• Design, implement and manage changes to the application platforms (Windows Server – AKS)
• Maintain the software components that form the application platforms and document support procedures.
• Support developers and application architects during the design of their solutions and support their implementation until the production environment.
• Analyse and troubleshoot problems and technical errors with the implemented solutions.
• Support and coach the other team members on the platform components
• Propose improvements to our application platforms
• You participate in on duty (24/7) support role in a 1 week / 4 weeks schedule (on request)
General Skills :
• At least be able to follow passively a conversation in both of our national languages Dutch & French (this is a must) and fluent in English.
• Passionate about cloud native technologies
• Knowledge of traditional IT and software development
• Analytical reasoning skills for problem diagnostics
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment
Technical Skills :
• Have a strong (>4 years) background in the management of cloud native workloads in a corporate context
• Have extensive (>4 years) experience in the management of Kubernetes clusters and associated software components (e.g. Istio, Keda, Harbor etc.)
• Have professional experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps).
• Have a vast experience (>4 years) in the management of public cloud environments (e.g. Azure, Amazon AWS)
• Hands-on scripting skills (e.g. Powershell, Azure CLI)
Our technical environment :
At Fluxys we are running two application platforms to host in-house developed applications. Our primary on-prem platform is based on Windows Application Servers. A second application platform has been built based around AKS to host applications that are built as container images.
