Senior QA/QC Engineer
Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar - Onshore

Job Purpose
The Senior QA/QC Engineer ensures that all engineering, design, procurement, construction, installation, repair, and modification activities—both onshore and offshore—are executed in full compliance with relevant codes, standards, specifications, and internal quality procedures.
This role provides expert support in materials engineering, metallurgy, fabrication, welding, NDT, and auditing across project and operational environments.
Qualifications (mandatory)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Professional certifications in Welding, NDT, Inspection, or Auditing (e.g., CSWIP, AWS, API, ASNT).
- Minimum 6 years’ QA/QC experience within the oil & gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight
- Supervise QA/QC Inspectors, contract personnel, and NDT Technicians to ensure adherence to procedural and quality requirements.
- Review and approve critical repair documents including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), QA/QC reports, and recommend alternative inspection/testing methods as needed.
- Perform metallurgical failure analyses for failed equipment or components, including planning, contractor mobilization, execution, and reporting.
Procurement & Material Quality
- Support procurement activities by reviewing inspection requirements, participating in technical bid evaluations, and overseeing third?party inspection assignments.
- Ensure materials and equipment meet quality requirements from procurement through final receiving and inspection.
Engineering & Operational Support
- Provide QA/QC input for readiness reviews, lessons learned, risk assessments, management of change, and root cause failure analysis.
- Review and contribute to Scopes of Work for maintenance and modification contracts, including evaluation of contractor documentation and quality compliance during execution and shutdowns.
Auditing & Compliance
- Conduct quality audits on suppliers and contractors, provide detailed evaluations, and oversee corrective action follow?up.
- Manage inspection and certification programs for gas cylinders, portable tanks, and lifting equipment according to KPI requirements.
Quality Culture & Continuous Improvement
- Promote quality awareness across maintenance, supply chain, and contractor teams through training, knowledge sharing, and procedure rollout.
- Support the development, revision, and implementation of QA/QC policies and procedures related to materials inspection, welding control, pressure testing, and other key areas.
- Strong technical background in engineering, procurement, fabrication, inspection, and installation of process equipment and piping.
- Hands?on experience resolving welding, materials, and QA/QC issues.
