Overview
The Senior Riser Engineer leads riser discipline improvements, applies advanced engineering expertise, and mentors junior engineers. They solve complex problems, ensure compliance with standards, and support safe, efficient subsea operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform FEED, studies, and detailed riser design, analysis, and calculations (fatigue, strength, installation, clash).
- Prepare and review design reports, procedures, and technical specifications.
- Ensure designs meet project scope, schedule, budget, and safety requirements.
- Interface with other disciplines, project management, procurement, and fabrication teams to deliver clash-free, integrated designs.
- Review vendor/subcontractor documents, provide technical support during fabrication, and participate in audits and site surveys.
- Support bid proposals, estimates, and variation orders.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
- Maintain awareness of costs, productivity, and project progress.
- Participate in riser design reviews, verification checks, and platform component design (wall thickness, configuration, etc.).
