Airswift is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to work in a contractor (12 months, with a strong possibility of extension) position in Mexico City for an oil and gas company.
Support Facilities engineering studies and activities related to structural engineering, stability and foundation design.
The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for co-ordination and management of the structural discipline for the Kan project, ensuring structural system lifetime integrity including foundation design.
Provide technical expertise for the Structural discipline by defining engineering standards and functional specifications, but initiating independent verifications as required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and Lead the verification activity within the structural discipline, ensuring review and verification of Contractors work.
Manage interfaces and provide support to other technical functional areas such as SURF, D&W, FPSO, etc.
Ensure that relevant regulatory/company requirements are complied with, but in the event possible contribute in deviation handling.
Contribute to the management of change process in terms of engineering reviews and potential changes.
Initiate and Lead independent verification work ensuring delivery within expectations with regards to scope objective, cost and schedule
Provide directives for safe and efficient platform design, foundation design and operations, including the establishment and follow up of specific performance requirements for structural barriers, structural capacity and structural redundancy.
Contribute to project risk workshops.
Identify and follow up relevant risks and mitigating actions.
Support the alignment with D&W, Subsurface, HSE, SURF and Regulatory and Commercial disciplines for proactive contribution to project success (delivery according to FDP).
Ensure the right quality on the deliverables from contractor technical documents.
Review documents, and consolidate comments from other disciplines,
Ensuring correct design assumptions and analysis tools being deployed by the Contractors using updated and validated tools.
Travel to contractor and construction site as required for the project to ensure the timely delivery of the tasks and project timeline/milestone.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, preferably a Master's degree, in Structural Engineering or another relevant engineering field.
Master's degree in Project Management or PMP certification.
Professional Experience (Experience in a clearly defined field and total length of service required)
Experience in structural design engineering in the oil and gas industry, with a special focus on steel structures and jacket stability/foundation design.
Experience in early-stage projects (feasibility studies and conceptual engineering).
Experience in detailed design of jackets and steel structures.
