Senior Structural Engineer (Surabaya)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to lead and execute structural engineering activities during the Basic Engineering Design (BED) and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phases of offshore floating facilities such as FPSO, FSO, FPU, and FSU. The role involves structural analysis, design development, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and review structural analysis and design for topside modules, hull structures, and marine systems.
- Develop and validate structural design deliverables including:
- Structural drawings and layouts
- Structural calculation reports
- Weight control and load-out plans
- Structural specifications and datasheets
- Conduct global and local structural analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., SACS, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS, ABAQUS).
- Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (e.g., API RP 2A, DNVGL, ABS, ISO).
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZID/HAZOP sessions.
- Coordinate with naval architecture, piping, mechanical, and safety disciplines to ensure integrated design.
- Interface with clients, classification societies, and third-party reviewers.
- Support procurement and construction teams with technical input and resolution of structural issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in BED/FEED for offshore floating units (FPSO/FSO/FPU/FSU).
- Strong proficiency in structural analysis software and offshore design methodologies.
- Solid understanding of offshore structural systems, fatigue analysis, and dynamic loading.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with topside module integration and hull structural modifications.
- Familiarity with shipyard construction practices and offshore installation methods.
- Exposure to classification society approval processes.
