We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Management (SCM) Category Specialist (Contract) to join our SCM team, supporting value creation through strategic category management and commercial optimization across Company’s portfolio of existing and new assets - 12-24-months contract.
This role plays a critical part in leveraging enterprise spend, developing category strategies, and optimizing commercial terms, while partnering closely with Operations, Business Units, and SCM stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, implementation, and sustainment of fit?for?purpose category management strategies across assigned spend categories and Company assets.
- Drive commercial term optimization across existing and new agreements through structured negotiations, sourcing events, and RFP processes.
- Execute strategic sourcing initiatives for prioritized categories in collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and other internal stakeholders.
- Maintain prime accountability for delivering synergies and value creation, including cost reduction, cost avoidance, and operational efficiency improvements with measurable P&L impact.
- Own and manage Master Service Agreements and key commercial agreements within assigned categories.
- Support post?award contract management activities to ensure commercial terms are realized and supplier performance aligns with contractual expectations.
- Collaborate with Legal, Contracts, and SCM colleagues to ensure commercial strategies align with Company’s risk tolerance and governance requirements.
- Utilize data and analytics to compare commercial terms, pricing structures, and supplier performance across assets and agreements.
- Ensure all sourcing and category management activities are executed in accordance with Company’s SCM policies, standards, and delegated authorities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to category management processes, tools, templates, and systems.
- Support contract and sourcing administration activities within GEP and Maximo, as required.
Qualifications
- Related post?secondary education in business, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, strategic sourcing, or category management within industrial, energy, or infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated success in driving synergies and value creation through category management strategies and strong post?award contract management.
- Proven experience negotiating commercial terms, pricing structures, and labour and material rates for long?term agreements.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to synthesize complex commercial data and develop sourcing and negotiation strategies.
- Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and digital tools (including Copilot) to support data?driven decision?making.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively alongside subject?matter experts and Business Unit stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build consensus and influence outcomes across the organization.
- Experience managing upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas categories is considered an asset.
- Experience utilizing GEP and Maximo for sourcing, contract management, and supplier administration is a strong asset.
