Airswift is looking for a Senior Technical Specialist – Well Testing (Hybrid and Offshore)

to work on a 12-month assignment in Rio de Janeiro with a major oil and gas company.

The Professional will provide specialized technical support in deepwater exploration and appraisal well testing to the well team in Brazil. The Senior Well Testing Technical Specialist will be responsible for technical design, detailed engineering, and operational supervision activities in the field to safely and reliably design, plan, and execute E&A well testing scopes in Brazil, in compliance with all local regulations and relevant company and industry standards. The professional will work with a multidisciplinary and international team to ensure the safe delivery of all technical and commercial objectives for the complex and challenging deepwater E&A well testing scopes. This will include, among other activities, addressing process safety and operational risks, providing reliable technical engineering designs, developing detailed operational procedures, and providing supervision and monitoring of offshore operations at the well site.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

In this role the Senior Technical Specialist – Well Testing will:

Work as part of a team, under the direction of the Well Discipline Lead and Regional Wells Superintendent

Promote a strong safety culture across all well testing activities, focusing on inherently safer designs, process safety, procedural discipline, adherence to standards and collaboration with key stakeholders

Manage and work collaboratively with well testing and drilling teams and associated contractors to develop safe and reliable designs and robust and detailed operational procedures.

Lead and coordinate management of regional resources and activity with direct input from regional and functional management and engineering teams.

Oversight of contractual and technical conformance of the service providers and ensuring time and cost budgets are accurately forecasted and spending is appropriately monitored and controlled.

Review operational failure incidents, analyse root cause effects and present findings to ensure a positive learning culture.

Write deep technical reports, basis of designs, well programmes, work instructions and other documentation in English and be computer literate with relevant office and technical software packages

Manage and support HAZard IDentification, HAZard OPerability studies and Layers Of Protection Analysis, HSE risk assessments, well operations reviews, certification and design engineering reviews.

Integrate service providers and client demands to deliver safe, efficient and compliant operations.

Interface with the rig personnel on preparation of SIMOPS, TWOPs and safety critical and operational procedures. 

Provide onshore logistical and operational support for regional activity as required.

Report directly to and provide technical support and safety advice to the Well Site Leaders during offshore execution

Lead and supervise site based Well Testing and related operations as required; ensuring systems are installed, commissioned and operated as per approved design and programme.

Provide quality control and quality assurance for all the well test and fluid data acquisition activities at site.

Perform end of well reporting and financial reconciliation, capturing lessons learnt and driving continuous improvement plans and initiatives. 


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in deepwater well testing, including experience in operators and the service sector in the design, planning, and direct supervision of deepwater exploration and appraisal (E&A) well testing operations. Prior experience in process safety, including HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and LOPAs, and their application in improving the safety and reliability of well testing operations. Prior experience in design assurance and supervision of safety systems and critical safety equipment for deepwater, subsea, and surface well testing.

Bachelor's degree required.

Advanced English - Required.

Valid Well Control Certificate (WellSharp or IWCF).

BOSIET or HUET training applicable for locations requiring helicopter transport to the well.
