Job Purpose
- Maintain Operator Training Simulators by addressing system issues, performing periodic system health checks, system backups, and updating simulator models as per plant management of changes.
- Design and implement new simulator troubleshooting training scenarios.
- Contribute extensively to Operator Training Simulator projects with a high degree of independence.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Perform software maintenance of all simulator models:
- Troubleshoot and fix simulator issues during training.
- Perform periodic system backups and hardware/software health checks.
- Liaise with technical teams to address hardware/software failures.
- Manage antivirus updates.
- Design and implement new simulator troubleshooting training scenarios in coordination with operations and instructors.
- Manage implementation of changes in training simulator models.
- Contribute to new Operator Training Simulator projects:
- Perform preliminary analysis and design.
- Assist in developing and reviewing Statements of Work (SOW) for new simulator models.
- Address vendors’ technical clarifications during bidding.
- Define technical requirements during project kick-off.
- Review and approve simulator deliverables during acceptance tests (Model Validation, Factory Acceptance, Site Acceptance).
- Liaise with technical teams to manage simulator spares and hardware/software obsolescence.
- Develop a broad understanding of key techniques and applications across all installed training simulators.
- Provide simulation technical information and expertise to other disciplines as required.
Qualifications
- Formal Engineering Degree, preferably in Chemical, Petrochemical, or equivalent field.
Knowledge and Experience
- Hands-on experience in process simulation software (steady-state and dynamic).
- Knowledge of control systems such as Foxboro, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, TRICONEX, and CCC.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in process modeling and Operator Training Simulators using tools like Unisim Operation, Unisim Design, Dynsim, FSIM/SCP, and TRISIM.
- Experience with processes such as gas processing, refinery, offsite, and utilities.

- Strong organizational and communication skills.

- Proficient in English (written and spoken) with strong presentation skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
