Site Electrical / Instrumentation Inspector

Role Overview
- Site Inspections: Conduct daily site inspections to monitor ongoing construction activities, ensuring adherence to design drawings, technical specifications, and national regulations.
- Quality Control: Ensure that materials and workmanship meet quality standards and project requirements.
- Compliance Monitoring: Check that construction practices comply with local, regional, and national codes and regulations, especially for VDE and DGUV.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, progress reports, and non-compliance issues.
- Testing: Ensure that applicable tests (e.g., SAT’s) are conducted and review test reports.
- Issue Reporting: Identify and report deficiencies, deviations, or safety violations, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Communication: Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve on-site issues and clarify requirements.
- Coordination: Assist in review of PI&D’s, drawings, change orders, and contractor submittals.
- Safety Monitoring: Support implementation of site safety protocols and practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- Construction Methods & Materials: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including installation & testing of (sub)assemblies.
- Drawing & Specification Interpretation: Ability to accurately read and interpret electrical diagrammatic drawings and technical documents.
- Quality Assurance & Control: Proficiency in conducting inspections, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with local and federal building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Technical Reporting: Skill in preparing detailed inspection reports, documenting non-conformities, and recommending corrective actions.
- Good communication and coordination skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficient in using Office 365, SharePoint, TEAMS, etc.
Education & Experience
- Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.
- Certifications: CompEx EX01-Ex04 or equivalent competency in explosive environments; Small-Bore Tubing (SBT) inspection using Swagelok and/or Parker fittings.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in inspection of electrical installation/assemblies at project sites.
