  • Select appropriate materials and technical specifications for pipeline construction (specialized steels, anti-corrosive and fatigue-resistant coatings).
  • Conduct structural analysis for hydrodynamic loads, internal pressure, and stresses from currents and wave action.
  • Design mechanical protection systems to prevent external damage (anchors, fishing activities).
  • Analyze the physical and chemical behavior of hydrocarbons under subsea conditions (hydrate/paraffin formation).
  • Implement and manage cathodic protection systems using sacrificial anodes or impressed current.
  • Apply advanced coatings (epoxy, polyethylene, corrosion-resistant alloys).
  • Oversee installation techniques (J-lay, S-lay, reel-lay) and supervise subsea inspections using ROVs and other technologies.

  • Develop and update contingency plans for spills and emergencies; conduct advanced risk analysis (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA).
  • Supervise SCADA systems for remote operational monitoring (flow, pressure, temperature).
  • Implement predictive maintenance programs using intelligent pigging and instrumented pigs.
  • Lead geotechnical and oceanographic studies (e.g., bathymetry, seabed stability, underwater currents).
  • Optimize costs throughout the installation, operation, and maintenance lifecycle.
  • Promote technological innovation, including integration of IoT sensors and hydrogen-ready pipeline systems.
