Airswift is seeking a Non-Metallic Materials SQE Engineer for a permanent contract position in São Paulo, working with a multinational company that supplies wind turbines and energy management software.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


New Supplier Development: Responsible for identifying and developing new fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite suppliers, including conducting quality system audits and process capability assessments. Lead the evaluation and improvement of suppliers' quality and process capabilities, and complete the qualification and onboarding of approved suppliers.


New Product Development Quality Planning: Oversee quality planning for new FRP composite products, evaluating the manufacturability of product designs and process feasibility. Conduct audits of supplier quality and production processes at each stage according to PPAP procedures, ensuring effective validation and control of critical quality characteristics and process features at the supplier end.


Quality Management of Existing Suppliers: Plan and execute process and product audits for FRP composite suppliers, identify significant quality risks, and drive suppliers to implement improvements to prevent risks from reaching project sites.


Supplier Issue Resolution and Improvement: Handle and improve quality issues related to incoming materials, manufacturing processes, and post-service product performance for FRP components. Coordinate resources across design, supplier, and site teams, and apply professional expertise to implement containment measures, root cause analysis, and closed-loop improvements to ensure consistency and stability of batch product quality.


Systematic Quality Issue Analysis: Utilize RCA tools and methodologies such as 8D and Fishbone Diagrams to systematically resolve product quality issues in FRP composite manufacturing.


Industry Benchmarking and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on composites industry trends, continuously optimize product quality management and manufacturing processes, and enhance product competitiveness and reliability.







JOB QUALIFICATIONS


Education and specialization: Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.


Certifications: Certifications in testing or quality of composite materials (e.g., ACCP, ASNT) are preferred.


Experience in the composites (FRP) or non-metallic materials industry, with familiarity in quality process management for FRP molding, lamination, curing, and machining.


Supplier management skills: Familiarity with supplier development processes and daily management, ability to conduct supplier quality system audits using ISO9001 and promote systematic improvements.


Proficiency in quality tools: Ability to apply quality management methods such as APQP, PPAP, and FMEA, as well as quality analysis tools such as 8D and fishbone diagrams.
