Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Materials & Corrosion)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Chartered / Professional Engineer status or equivalent preferred.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant post-graduate experience, including:
- At least 6 years in the oil & gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards and codes related to Materials & Corrosion Engineering.
- Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in engineering projects within a multi-project environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written), including proficiency in preparing reports and delivering presentations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Perform Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities and conduct in-house site surveys for projects from concept definition through:
- Engineering studies
- FEED
- Detailed design
- Commissioning
Ensure compliance with comapny technical framework, including:
- QHSE requirements
- Environmental and local regulations
- Assurance practices
- Engineering standards
- Personal and process safety policies
- Review technical deviations and variations from approved guidelines, codes, and standards.
- Support the Engineering Department in reviewing, updating, and applying company standards and amendments to external standards.
- Plan and coordinate activities of a multidisciplinary engineering team to ensure timely delivery of technical services.
- Develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects; ensure clarity and completeness.
- Review and approve method statements from contractors for scope compliance; liaise with contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities; contribute to FEED/EPIC scheduling for effective project delivery.
- Evaluate technical bid packages for compliance with scope requirements.
- Review and assess contract changes/variations against approved guidelines and practices.
- Support technical competency development for self and team members; participate in structured training for Associate and Qatari Engineers.
