SR. MECHANICAL ENGINEER (MATERIALS & CORROSION)
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
- Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years relevant post?graduate experience, including at least 6 years within the Oil & Gas industry
- Strong capability to identify and apply relevant engineering standards and codes related to Materials & Corrosion Engineering
- Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality across engineering projects in a multi?project environment
- Good communication and presentation skills with full professional fluency in English
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical design and engineering services in Materials & Corrosion Engineering for assigned engineering projects, ensuring technical quality in line with applicable procedures while considering quality, schedule, cost, and HSE requirements
- Conduct Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities and in?house/site surveys across all project phases, from initial concept definition through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning
- Ensure that applicable technical assurance practices, engineering standards, and environmental and safety policies are incorporated into work scopes and adhered to during Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities
- Review technical deviations and variations against approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices
- Support the Engineering Department in reviewing, updating, and applying internal standards and amendments to external standards
- Plan and coordinate activities of multi?disciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of technical services in line with project requirements
- Coordinate engineering designs and develop/review multi?disciplinary work scopes to ensure completeness and clarity
- Review and approve method statements developed by contractors for scope compliance and liaise with contractors to resolve technical issues
- Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in?house engineering activities and contribute to FEED / EPIC scheduling and effective project execution
- Conduct technical bid evaluations to ensure scope compliance
- Review and evaluate contract changes and variations against approved guidelines and practices
- Support the development of personal technical competency and that of colleagues, including participation in structured training for junior engineers
