Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to support the Operations team. The role involves providing technical services in oil and gas processing and production facilities, ensuring technical quality and integrity while meeting safety, time, and cost objectives. Candidates must have extensive pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up experience.
Primary Purpose of the Job
Provide technical services in process engineering for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with safety, operational, and maintenance requirements while achieving project objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
- Deliver high-quality process engineering support throughout all project stages.
- Review and verify technical designs, process simulation documents, and design deliverables to meet approved standards and operational requirements.
- Ensure scope completeness and demonstrate hands-on experience with rotating and static equipment, pumps, compressors, reliability systems, APMS, mechanical/piping modifications, and utilities.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Process Safety, Fire Engineering, and ICT teams to align requirements and provide continuous assurance.
- Identify hazards during engineering activities (e.g., HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, QRA, FERA) and participate in technical meetings, commissioning, audits, and performance tests.
- Collaborate during FEED and EPC stages to integrate operational and HSE requirements.
- Resolve technical issues, punch lists, and warranty matters during pre-commissioning and commissioning until successful handover.
- Support incident analysis and failure investigations; ensure compliance with environmental, process, and safety standards.
- Plan SIMOPS and shutdown activities for effective execution.
- Contribute to the development of local team capabilities.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
- Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience, including 10 years in Oil & Gas with a reputable operator.
- Mandatory experience in operations and maintenance.
- Proficiency in international standards and process simulation tools (HYSYS, ASPEN, FLARENET).
- Exposure to consulting firms and EPC contractors with commissioning and handover experience is an advantage.
- Strong technical fundamentals, communication, and presentation skills; fluent in English.
