Structural Engineer – Hull & Marine Construction Team

Location:

Port, Turkey (Onshore Scope)


Project Overview:

The Sakarya Gas Field Development is a major offshore energy project in Turkey, with onshore facilities located at Filyos Port. The onshore scope includes topside integration, hull outfitting, and structural works to support gas processing and export.


Role Purpose:

The Structural Engineer will provide technical expertise and construction support for all structural activities related to hull and marine systems. This includes supervising fabrication and erection, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and supporting quality and safety standards during construction and commissioning phases.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction Support:

    • Oversee structural fabrication and erection activities for hull and marine components.
    • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and international standards.
  • Technical Review:

    • Review structural drawings, calculations, and material specifications.
    • Provide engineering solutions for site queries and technical issues.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance:

    • Monitor structural works to ensure adherence to project quality plans and HSE requirements.
    • Participate in inspections and verification of structural integrity.
  • Coordination:

    • Interface with engineering, procurement, and QA/QC teams to ensure smooth execution.
    • Liaise with subcontractors and vendors for technical clarifications and progress updates.
  • Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of construction progress, changes, and as-built documentation.
    • Prepare reports for management and client updates.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in structural engineering within oil & gas or offshore energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structural fabrication, welding, and erection processes.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME, ISO).
  • Experience in onshore topside integration and hull outfitting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
