Structural Engineer – Surabaya

Location: Surabaya

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our offshore engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SACS software, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and hands-on experience in FPSO, FSO, FSU, or FPU projects, particularly during the Basic Engineering Design (BED) or Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phases. This role involves structural analysis, design, and verification of offshore structures to ensure safety, compliance, and performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design of offshore structures (FPSO, FSO, FSU, FPU) using SACS and other relevant software.
  • Conduct linear and non-linear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for topside modules, hull structures, and subsea components.
  • Develop and review Basic Engineering Design (BED) and FEED deliverables including design reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (API, DNV, ABS, ISO, etc.).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including naval architects, piping, mechanical, and process engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZID/HAZOP workshops.
  • Support procurement and construction teams with technical clarifications and design modifications.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports for client submission and internal use.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil / Structural / Offshore Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in structural engineering for offshore oil & gas projects.
  • Proficient in SACS, and experienced in FEA tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of offshore structural design principles and load conditions (wave, wind, current, etc.).
  • Experience in FPSO/FSO/FSU/FPU projects during FEED or Basic Design phases is essential.
  • Familiarity with international design codes and classification society rules.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with dynamic analysis, fatigue assessment, and structural integrity management.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling tools (e.g., PDMS, E3D, or similar).
