Role Overview

  • Collaborate with Regional and Project Teams to ensure equipment is fit for purpose.
  • Engage in delivery, systems, aftermarket, and site coordination activities.
  • Identify and assess deviations to Contract Technical Specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Steward discipline engineering queries from Contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Develop plans to close technology gaps in subsea controls systems.
  • Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products.
  • Communicate issues affecting engineering design, safety, and compliance.
  • Evaluate work performed by Contractors and sub-contractors against project specifications.
  • Participate in engineering reviews at Contractor's and subcontractor's locations.
  • Promote capital efficiency in engineering design.
  • Ensure reliable subsea controls systems are supplied.
  • Monitor engineering and verify qualification of subsea controls systems.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Expertise in subsea topsides control systems (e.g. MCS, SPCU/SVCU).
  • Proficient in subsea Cause and Effect logic, Interlock, and Permissive logic.
  • Experience with subsea to topsides interfaces (e.g. MCS to DCS/PCS/ICSS).
  • Knowledge of subsea vendor control module technology.
  • Familiarity with all phases of deepwater projects including FEED, detail design, execution, installation, commissioning, and operations.
  • Ability to work with new technology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with initiative and flexibility.
  • Collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Understanding of risk management and technical assurance.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related engineering specialty.
  • Experience with subsea controls equipment and production equipment including trees, connectors, casing hangers, tubing hangers, and running tools.
