One of our clients, a major oil and gas company, has tasked us with finding a Systems Technician to support operations at their Norman Wells facility. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a historic site that has been producing oil since the 1920s, while enjoying a balanced work-life schedule through a 14/14 FIFO rotation from Edmonton, AB. Camp accommodations are provided.

Job Purpose

The Systems Technician will be responsible for maintaining the Process Control & PI systems, performing preventative maintenance, and contributing to both short- and long-term strategy development for controls equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Industrial Control System Requirements (ICSR) and ensure compliance.
  • Lead Alarm and COP Management processes.
  • Interface with contractors and develop direct supervision plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, maintenance, and contractors.
  • Develop and steward KPIs for control systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot site radio systems and licenses.
  • Support EMIT initiatives including hardware troubleshooting and cyber security.
  • Attend monthly IT meetings and support MOC implementation.
  • Update drawings (redlines) and close out SAP line items.
  • Assist planning group with job scoping and spare parts inventory.
  • Provide backup coverage for Cold Lake Systems during weekends or vacations.
  • Support other trades (Instrumentation, Electrical) as qualified.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in systems networking, control systems, and industrial communications.
  • Experience with SAP, PI systems, and radio hardware.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Previous oil & gas or industrial plant experience preferred.
