Airswift is seeking a Tax Analyst (only local candidates) to work at Georgetown- Guyana, on a permanent position with an Oil and Gas Company.

Responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with all aspects of the company's tax planning and reporting activities in Guyana. This role includes preparing tax returns, researching tax laws, and providing support during internal and external audits. The Tax Analyst will work closely with various departments to optimize tax processes and ensure accuracy in tax-related matters.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the entire cycle from invoice receipt to payment, including invoice coding, reconciliation with purchase orders, obtaining approval, and posting invoices to the accounting system.
Ensure all invoices are issued in accordance with Guyanese tax legislation, providing daily support to the tax team.
Calculate taxes and, after review by the Finance Manager, send the corresponding payment vouchers to the Finance Department.
Complete all tax returns, such as: Corporate Income Tax, Urban Property Tax (IPTU), Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Income Tax, and ensure that the amounts involved are properly recorded in the system.
Prepare and submit corporate income tax returns, VAT returns, and other tax-related documents in accordance with Guyanese tax regulations.
Conduct thorough tax investigations to ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
Provide support during internal and external tax audits, gathering and organizing requested documents.
Analyze the company's financial activities to identify tax savings opportunities and ensure compliance with tax laws.
Collaborate with the finance team in the preparation and review of tax provisions.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and inform relevant departments of the impacts.
Maintain accurate and organized tax records and assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies.
Prepare and manage tax reports and documentation for management review.
Guide and support colleagues on tax-related matters.
Work with the IT team to customize the ERP system to meet local tax requirements.
Participate in tax audits, providing requested documents and/or clarifications.
Ensure reconciliation between accounting and tax records, verifying accounting and tax balances.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field.
In-depth knowledge of Guyanese tax laws and regulations.
CPA and/or ACCA, would be good to have
