Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Safety (Process) Lead to provide expert guidance on process safety and technical risk management for a major offshore development. The role involves leading safety engineering activities across design, construction, and commissioning phases, with a strong focus on floating production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of process safety strategies and deliverables.
- Oversee hazard identification and risk assessment processes (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, QRA).
- Ensure compliance with international safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve safety-critical engineering documents and drawings.
- Interface with engineering, operations, and HSE teams to integrate safety into design.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis as required.
- Coordinate with classification societies and third-party safety consultants.
- Provide technical leadership during safety reviews and audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in technical/process safety within offshore oil & gas projects.
- Strong background in FPU/FPSO design and operations.
- Proficient in safety analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., BowtieXP, PHAST, PHA-Pro).
- Familiarity with DNV, ABS, API, IEC, and other relevant standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience with high-pressure systems and complex topside processing.
- Exposure to international regulatory environments and multi-cultural teams.
