Airswift is seeking a Technical Specialist to support a major client within the nuclear and industrial projects sector.
This role provides technical oversight, field support, and implementation guidance for assigned projects across
mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines. The Technical Specialist ensures design and planning products are
accurate, executable, safe, and aligned with project scope and schedule requirements.
The position acts as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for design and planning issues during project implementation,
working closely with Engineering, Planning, Quality Control, Craft, and Implementation Management teams.
Responsibilities
Review and understand design and planning products, including drawings, work orders, Temporary Installation Procedures (TN), Temporary Test Procedures (TT), Instrument/Electrical Procedures (IP), Mechanical Maintenance Procedures (MP), and Periodic Test Procedures (PT).
Participate in thorough walkdowns of Systems, Structures, and Components (SSCs) being modified alongside the Responsible Engineer (RE), Designer, Planner, and Implementation Manager (IM).
Provide technical feedback during design and planning phases to ensure safe, quality implementation within scheduled timeframes.
Assist in developing Temporary Installation Procedures (TN) for assigned modifications when necessary.
Collaborate with the RE, Planner, and Quality Control (QC) teams to understand and apply QC inspection requirements.
Verify that work order tasks are coded correctly for QC activities.
Ensure all required procedures (IP, MP, PT, TN, TT, etc.) are correctly specified in work orders.
Lead and facilitate review meetings with Craft to ensure clear understanding of drawings, procedures, and implementation requirements.
Ensure work is executed as designed according to drawings and work orders.
Identify and correct deviations from design or planning with the IM and Craft.
When implementation cannot follow the current design, coordinate with RE/Designers to revise designs through an Engineering Change (EC).
Apply knowledge of AD?EG?ALL?1132 requirements to support continuation or stoppage of field work when EC revisions are pending.
Coordinate with the Planner to revise work orders when projects cannot be implemented as planned.
Requirements
Must be capable of performing walkdowns, climbing, navigating equipment areas, and supporting field activities safely.
Strong understanding of engineering design packages and work planning documents (drawings, work orders, TN, TT, IP, MP, PT, etc.).
Ability to interpret engineering documents, specifications, and field conditions.
Excellent communication and coordination skills between Engineering, Planning, QC, Craft, and Implementation teams.
Strong technical judgment and ability to evaluate field conditions, execution risks, and deviations.
Ability to work independently with significant time spent in the field environment.
