Water Prover / Water Draw Technician (8?Month Contract) – Sherwood Park, AB

We are hiring a Water Prover / Water Draw Technician for an 8?month contract based out of Sherwood Park, supporting petroleum measurement activities across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined field technicians who enjoy independent work, travel, and hands?on troubleshooting in facility environments.

About the Role

The Water Prover / Water Draw Technician plays a key role in maintaining measurement accuracy at terminals, pipelines, and facility sites. The position involves performing water draws, meter proving, and supporting field operations to ensure custody?transfer systems meet regulatory and operational standards.

This is a field?based technical role, not a camp or rotation position. Travel is required throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform water draws and meter proving at facilities across AB/SK/BC.
  • Operate and maneuver larger field vehicles during travel and site work.
  • Troubleshoot flow, pressure, and metering issues on LACT units and terminal systems.
  • Complete accurate field documentation, reporting, and measurement records.
  • Support petroleum measurement teams with equipment setup, calibration, and field tasks.
  • Work safely and independently in varying weather and facility conditions.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with flow/pressure systems.
  • Ability to operate larger field vehicles (Class 5 required; Class 3/1 an asset).
  • Experience working independently in field environments.
  • Solid communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout AB/SK/BC.
  • Safety?focused mindset and ability to work in all weather conditions.

  • Base: Sherwood Park, AB

  • Travel: Frequent regional travel to facilities
