About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Umbilical Installation Engineer to join an offshore project team. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the installation of subsea umbilicals, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review installation procedures for subsea umbilicals, including load-out, transportation, and offshore installation.
- Provide technical support during project execution phases, including mobilization and offshore operations.
- Interface with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of umbilical systems.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project schedule and quality requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for offshore installation activities.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards and participate in safety reviews and audits.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and as-built records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Subsea Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 8+ years experience in subsea umbilical installation within offshore oil & gas projects.
- Strong knowledge of installation vessels, tensioner systems, and subsea equipment handling.
- Familiarity with international standards (API, ISO, DNV) and offshore installation codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure offshore environments.
- Willingness to travel and work offshore as required.
Preferred
- Experience with deepwater projects and dynamic positioning vessels.
- Previous exposure to Southeast Asia offshore projects.
