Airswift is looking for a Wellsite Geologist (Local candidates) to work in a contractor (3 months, with a strong possibility of extension) position in Trinidad and Tobago for an oil and gas company.

Attention local candidates.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing all relevant geological operations at the drilling site during the company's exploration campaigns, in accordance with HSSE protocols, while at sea and during transport to/from the drilling site.

• Maintain consistent communication with the company's drilling supervisors on site, as well as with the onshore well delivery team, regarding subsurface observations made during drilling activities.

• Work closely with and supervise the company's mud loggers, LWD team, wireline team, and DSVs to ensure effective and necessary communication.

• Verify the competence of service provider personnel, ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of all data received, and independently evaluate sample descriptions (lithology and hydrocarbons) for accuracy in relation to drilled materials.

• Monitor well conditions and drilling parameters, including penetration rate, mud weight, torque, overload, mud additives, signs of geostress or well instability, and time to bottom; maintain real-time knowledge to support the company's pore pressure specialists in evaluating pore pressure trends.

Assist in confirming casing points, core acquisition points, and total depth (TD).

• Support logging operations, core acquisition, and provide interim and independent analyses of fluid samples, complete cores, and wall cores, along with follow-up and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) responsibilities.

• Provide all pertinent subsurface information, including Daily Geological Reports and logs, to the company's DSVs on-site and to the Well Delivery Team onshore.

• Compile well lithological logs and end-of-hole composite logs according to company standards and maintain a complete well file with all related data, reports, and logs.

• Collaborate closely with the Operations Petrophysicist regarding logging data during drilling (LWD), wireline logging data, coring activities, and data handling and transmission.

• Be the primary point of contact at the well for acquiring geological data and assisting in the collection of petrophysical data.

• Supervise and perform quality assurance (QA/QC) of drilling sample descriptions provided by mud geologists and compile a lithological profile of the well, including characterization of gas/oil indications, pore pressure prediction, drilling parameters, and long-wheelbase (LWD) logging services.

• Evaluate and characterize collapses in drilling samples and promptly communicate findings to the Drilling Support Teams (DSVs) and the company's Well Delivery Team.

• Perform quality assurance (QA/QC) and independent evaluations of mud logging services.

• Ensure that mud, fluid, drilling, SWS (Groundwater System) and core samples are collected in accordance with company and co-owner specifications, properly labeled, packaged and shipped.

• Assist in confirming core sampling points, casing points, and total depth (TD) according to established programs.

• Coordinate communication protocols with the company's Drilling Superintendents for relevant operations; promptly relay geological information and guidance to the company's Operations Geologist.

• Support the selection of core sampling points, sampling operations, and supervise quality assurance (QA/QC) of core handling and labeling.

• Immediately report successes and failures of core sampling programs to the Operations Geologist.

• Assist in describing colors, core fragments, and end pieces, focusing on lithology and hydrocarbon indicators, and promptly communicate details to the Operations Geologist.

• Monitor wireline logging operations, perform quality assurance (QA/QC) of the logs, and provide detailed reports on logging operation times, tool malfunctions, and well condition issues.

• Support the DSV (Deep Service Vessel) and the platform logistics manager in coordinating the shipment of appropriate tools and reserves, confirming equipment readiness with the LWD (Loading Walking Drilling), wireline logging, and core sampling teams.

• Assist the Operations Petrophysicist in selecting SWC sampling depths for reservoirs containing hydrocarbons, tailings zones, sealing shales, paleo formations, and source rocks, in collaboration with the Operations Geologist.
