Yard Engineering Lead
Job Purpose:
Provide engineering support to fabrication yard construction and commissioning activities, ensuring a seamless transition from engineering to fabrication/commissioning. Ensure full compliance with engineering deliverables and standardized processes, supporting the Engineering Division Manager to deliver all aspects to the highest standards.
The Yard Engineering Lead will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance on-site across all engineering disciplines, ensuring compliance with international standards to enhance asset reliability and safety.
Job Context & Major Challenges:
- Provide extensive knowledge and understanding of engineering requirements, translating company requirements and data into efficient delivery from the contractor.
- Collaborate across disciplines (Process, Loss Prevention, Electrical, Mechanical, ICSS, Pipeline, Umbilicals, HSSE, and Risk) and monitor progress and delivery of engineering scope.

- Ensure all activities comply with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality policies, regulations, and standards.
- Contribute to the development of local employees as part of workforce nationalization programs.
- Ensure compliance with anti-trust, competition laws, and company firewall policies.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Provide follow-on engineering support to the fabrication yard for construction, commissioning, and close-out of engineering activities.
- Review contractor engineering site queries and red-line markups of engineering deliverables to support as-building activities.
- Act as the engineering interface between the fabrication site and the design office to resolve site engineering issues.
- Participate in key design workshops and ensure recommendations are implemented and actions closed (e.g., Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZIDs).
- Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts for endorsement of technical deviations to specifications when required.
- Ensure contractor follows management of change procedures for any design changes initiated from the field.
- Attend FATs/SATs and support field commissioning activities.
- Coordinate and develop procedures for smooth handover of equipment packages to operations.
- Ensure timely issuance of engineering deliverables to support site activities.
Qualifications: (Mandatory)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry.
- Broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrumentation, telecom, and electrical systems.
