Our client is seeking a Machinery Planner to work within their facilities in Gonzales, LA, for a 12 months assignment.
Location: Flexible. California, Texas, & Louisiana are the main regions.
Position Type: Hybrid (On-site/Remote)
Hours: M-F 5/8s during planning phase, 7/12s during TA execution (30 - 45 days)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
· Travel required up to 25-35% of the year depending on TAR occurrences and assignments.
· Ability to take trips during the Planning Phase to gather information necessary to properly plan work scope defined.
· Required to be on-site for the duration of the Outage Execution timeframe to coordinate contractors executing planned work scopes, and to ensure Safe Work Practices and QAQC processes are being followed. Timeframes vary but an average outage duration is 30-45 days.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop detailed work plans for all machinery and rotating equipment scopes, including pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and associated systems
· Review and validate turnaround work scope with engineering, operations, and reliability teams
· Conduct field walkdowns to verify job scope, access, and required resources
· Create job packages including procedures, drawings, permits, materials, tooling, and labor requirements
· Identify and coordinate required parts, materials, and specialty tools to ensure availability prior to execution
· Estimate labor hours and craft requirements for each work activity
· Support development of the turnaround schedule by providing accurate durations and sequencing logic
· Interface with vendors and contractors for specialized machinery work (e.g., inspections, overhauls, alignments, balancing)
· Ensure all work plans comply with safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements
· Participate in risk assessments, constructability reviews, and pre-turnaround planning meetings
· Provide technical support during turnaround execution and assist with troubleshooting as needed
· Capture lessons learned and update job plans for continuous improvement
· Support company processes, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and recommendations in a timely manner.
· Provide contractor field management in all outage phases for assigned contractors, including safety, timesheet verification, field oversight, change orders, and QC verification.
· Uphold and communicate high standards of housekeeping in assigned areas and on all job sites. Conduct frequent formal housekeeping inspections of plant areas.

· Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines. Travel may be required as much as 25-45% depending on projects

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Strong knowledge of rotating equipment and mechanical systems
· Ability to read and understand P&IDs, fixed equipment design packages, and technical specs.
· Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6.
· 10+ years’ experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines, preferably with experience in industrial outages, pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and associated systems
· 5+ years’ experience as a Machinery Planner.
· Previous experience building execution work packages with detailed work plans including safety matrix, picture, P&ID, bill of material, etc.
