About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Calibration & Instrumentation Technician to support testing and inspection services within the oil & gas sector. This role will focus primarily on laboratory-based calibration, testing, and verification of instrumentation equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
You will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of measurement equipment used across high-value energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration, testing, and fault-finding on a wide range of instrumentation equipment
- Carry out pressure, temperature, flow, and electrical calibrations in a controlled lab environment
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and calibration procedures
- Ensure all calibration activities are traceable to national/international standards
- Prepare and maintain accurate calibration reports, certificates, and documentation
- Support equipment mobilisation/demobilisation and inspection processes
- Troubleshoot and diagnose instrumentation faults and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain strict adherence to HSE standards and quality procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to ensure timely delivery of services
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Calibration or Instrumentation Technician (ideally within oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors)
- Strong hands-on experience with calibration equipment and test instruments
- Knowledge of measurement principles (pressure, temperature, electrical, flow, etc.)
- Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, NATA, or industry compliance frameworks)
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical documentation
- High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities
Qualifications
- Trade qualification, Diploma, or Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical, or related discipline
- Additional certifications in calibration or metrology (desirable)
